- 這裡曾是紀州藩主在前往江戶参勤交代の宿和鷹狩期間住宿本陣 It was used as an inn for the feudal lord to stay and rest during his alternate attendance and falconry trips to Edo by the Kishu domain.
- 敷地北側有二棟建物，曾是名手本陣 (官邸)，村長在此履行職責。同一地點同時存在本陣和役所等不同功能的建築實屬罕見，而由於本陣、地士 (土地管理人) 和大庄屋 (村長官邸) 的整體結構保存完好 On the north side of the site stand two buildings that served as the Meite government offices where the head village headmen’s duties were carried out. It is rare for buildings with different functions, such as headquarters and government offices, to exist on the same site, and as the overall structure of the headquarters, land stewards and head village headmen has been well preserved.
