• 隠岐の鬥牛 (牛突き) 是日本最古老的，相傳大約是 800 年前，島上的居民為慰藉被流放至隱岐的後鳥羽上皇而舉辦的。Oki’s bull sumo is the oldest in Japan with a tradition of nearly 800 years. It is said that Bull Sumo was introduced to the Oki Islands to entertain Emperor Gotoba, who was exiled to the Oki Islands.
• 兩頭情緒亢奮、鼻孔不斷噴氣的黑色公牛，低頭以牛角扣住彼此，然後推擠、衝撞，直至一方放棄或撤退。Two snorting black bulls, heads down and horns interlocked, push and shove each other until one gives up and retreats. 每一頭公牛都會安排一位牽繩人負責操控連接牛鼻子的繩子，他們會在公牛可能受傷時，迅速地將公牛拉開。 Each bull has a handler holding a rope attached to its nose and preventing either bull from becoming injured.
