• 透過鐵路的歷史，親身體驗日本近代化進程的「京都鐵道博物館」，透過「觀賞、接觸、體驗」，樂在其中的「學習場所」，創造傳達鐵路的安全性和技術的場所。The Kyoto Railway Museum opened to the public, offering the opportunity to experience Japan’s steps toward modernization through its railway history. Our goal as a museum is to contribute to regional revitalization while creating a museum accepted by many as both a “place of rest” and a “place of learning” where anyone can “discover, touch and experience” the history for themselves.

梅小路機関車庫 Umekoji Locomotive Shed – 国指定重要文化財 Nationally Designated Important Cultural Property

• 日本現存最古老的鋼筋混凝土造機関車庫，具有極高的價值 It is highly valuable as the oldest reinforced concrete locomotive shed still standing in Japan.
• 扇形車庫及蒸気機関車可以動態旋轉和改變方向的轉盤，展示治時期到昭和時期活躍的代表蒸気機関車 The roundhouse platform and the turntable on which steam locomotives dynamically rotate and change direction are on display here. We exhibits representative steam locomotives that were active from the Meiji to Showa periods.
