As Japan raced towards modernization in the years following 1891, these buildings have been preserved as they represent important steps for Japanese architects and builders as they learned and put into practice western design and construction techniques.

- 小岩井農場内の歴史的建築物有21棟被指定為国重要文化財,都是建於明治末期到昭和初期,而且大部分至今還在使用。Twenty-one historic buildings on the Koiwai farm have been designated as national important cultural properties. All of them were built from the late Meiji period to the early Showa period, and most of them are still in use today.

小岩井農場の一本桜 Solitary Cherry Tree at Koiwai Farm

- 以岩手富士「岩手山」為背景,在小岩井農場佇立一棵 100 年前種植的美麗櫻花樹。A solitary cherry tree in full bloom on the Koiwai Farm in the Spring, with Mt. Iwate Fuji (also known as Mt.Iwate) in the background. This beautiful tree is said to have been planted some 100 years ago.
