  • 誕生於 1946 年,因大驅動輪與小鍋爐的外觀極為優美而有”貴婦人”的美譽,原本被靜態保存在鐵路要衝的新津的 180 號機,因市民們的要求而於 1999 年動態復原,以磐越西線的季節定期列車「SL 磐越物語號」復活。被牽引的客車廂是由 12 系改造,廣用木紋的內部裝飾及車身的顏色搭配等,彷彿大正時期般充滿了浪漫懷舊的氣氛 Built in 1946, the SL Banetsu Monogatari has long been loved by passengers, earning the nickname of “Kifujin” (Noble Lady) for its graceful appearance with the large driving wheels and narrow boiler. The number 180 was retired to a quiet life at Niitsu Station, an important railway location, but was then pulled out of retirement in 1999 due to popular demand. It was revived as the SL Banetsu Monogatari, running seasonally on the Ban-etsu-West Line. The 12 series rolling stock was modified for the passenger cars. Wood patterns and soft colors create an old-style atmosphere evocative of the beloved Taisho era (1912–1926).

  • 自 2014 年 4 月起,1 號車改裝成兒童可以玩耍的自由空間「白鼬室」以及大人也會喜愛的「白鼬展望室」。歡迎盡情領略闔家都能盡興的「白鼬展望車廂」,車廂內還有 SL 職員的猜拳大會等各種活動 In April 2014, car number one was remodeled into two parts, the “Okojo Room” as a playroom for children and the “Okojo Observation Room” for adults to enjoy. Come and enjoy the Okojo Observation Car with the whole family. The train staff organizes games and other fun events, including rock-paper-scissors contests.
  • b. 7 號車 Car no. 7: 頭等 (綠色) 車廂 Green Car
  • 2013 年「SL 磐越物語號」承續符合 SL「C57-180 號機 (貴婦人)」優雅氣質的「復古式大正浪漫」造型,並且以提供旅客更「舒適的乘車時光」為目的,推出了魅力更上一層樓的綠色 (頭等) 車廂。讓旅客在去程充分享受窗外風光之餘,回程可以盡情感受 SL 的魄力 Carrying the nostalgic feel of the Taisho period, the SL Banetsu Monogatari has the grace of the C57-180 (Kifujin) model, and in 2013, a Green Car was brought on board to bring a new level of comfort and pleasure to travelers. Enjoy the scenery outbound and the power of the SL on the way home.

  • 前頭部分是開放感十足的全景展望室[綠色 (頭等) 車廂專用],回程的展望室可看到強而有力的 SL 車頭 The front end of the Green Car has a sense of spaciousness with a panoramic observation room. Just in front of the observation room on the return journey is the powerful SL locomotive.

  • 綠色 (頭等) 車廂座位為旋轉躺椅座席,規定人數 30 名,座席排列是 3 席(1 席 + 2 席),座席空間 (前後間隔) 與普通線特快綠色 (頭等) 車廂座位相同 Seating 30 people, the Green Car has reclining seats that rotate. The layout of each row is three seats, with one seat on one side of the aisle and two on the other, and each row is comfortably separated from the others on par with the standard Green Car arrangement.
