The main house, planned by the head of the family, Hayakawa Shuzo, is highly prestigious, with a heavy ceremonial platform and other features. Inside the sukiya-style building, each room is elaborately decorated with exquisite craftsmanship, including selected wood and mother-of-pearl inlay and metal ornaments.
