国指定重要文化財 Nationally Designated Important Cultural Property
- 自島原開設以來，角屋一直維持其建築和家族傳統，是江戶期の饗宴和待客之道場所，揚屋建築的唯一遺構 Sumiya has maintained its building and family legacy since the establishment of Shimabara. It is a surviving masterpiece of the ageya architectural style, a place for banquets and hospitality culture in the Edo period.
- 「揚屋」定義為招待賓客的場所，相當於現代的餐廳或料亭，作為饗宴施設，其特點是：寬敞的庭院面向主廳，庭院內通常設有茶室；此外，揚屋還擁有與寺院住所 (kuri) 同規模的廚房 An ageya was an elegant restaurant where banquets and dinner parties were held accompanied by the entertainment of geisha and taiyu (premiere geisha), who performed tea ceremonies, sang and danced. As a facility for banquets, it was characterized by the fact that a tea ceremony room was always located in the spacious garden facing the main room, and that it also had a kitchen the same size as the kuri (temple quarters).
