- 屋頂採用二平吹式瓦片，二種類交替鋪設，其中一種特殊的瓦片兩側有重疊的橫條，被稱為「両袖瓦」，岩国地方独特的瓦片，別名岩国瓦 The roof is tiled in a nihirabuki style, with two types of tiles alternating, and the special tile with overlapping bars on both sides is called ryosodegawara, a type of tile unique to the Iwakuni region. It is also known as Iwakuni tile.
- 考慮到錦川氾濫會淹沒橫山地區，作為武家屋敷，不同尋常地建在 2F，但 2F 主街一側 (玄関側) 沒有窗戶，考量不能看到上位身分の武士經過的道路 Perhaps in anticipation of the Nishiki River overflowing and flooding the Yokoyama area, the house is unusually second-story for a samurai residence, but there are no second-floor windows on the main street side (the entrance side), a consideration given to not looking down on the road where even higher-ranking samurai passed.
