- 該校於 1889 年在現在地竣工，成為 1887 年 4 月開校的第五高等中学校の本館 The building was constructed on this site in 1889 as a classroom building for the Fifth Higher Middle School, which had opened in April 1887.
- 展示舊制第五高等學校的歷史、教育、學生生活、畢業生等資料的博物館 Kumamoto University Memorial Museum of the Fifth High School exhibits documents concerning the Fifth High School’s history, education, student life and graduatds.
