磚砌棟 Original Brick Building

前身為 1906 年建成的帝國圖書館，這是一座文藝復興風格的洋風建築，被選為東京都歷史建築 This Western, Renaissance-style building of the Meiji era, designated as a historic building by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, was first constructed in 1906 as the Imperial Library.
建築師安藤忠雄參與了国際兒童図書館磚砌棟改造的設計 In renovating the building, the design was done by Tadao Ando Architect & Associates Co. Ltd. The Brick Building has also been expanded on the side that faces the courtyard with a modern glass and concrete extension designed by the architect, Tadao Ando.

拱門棟 Modern Arch Building

1 座柔和曲線的美麗玻璃建築 The glass wall of the new building (the arch-shaped building) shows a magnificent arch. The new building (the arch-shaped building), designed by Tadao Ando Architect & Associates and Nikken Sekkei, was completed in 2015.
