四國最美圖書館 The Most Beautiful Library in Shikoku
昔日為林業小鎮，境內超過 9 成面積都是森林，檮原町被譽為「雲之上小鎮」Yusuhara was once a logging town and is still over 90% forested land. It is often known as a “village above the clouds”.
大量使用檮原產的杉木，打造出與周圍環境和諧共存的建築 The library is known for its extensive use of local cedar, creating a serene environment that mirrors the surrounding forest.
屋頂利用隼接工法，天花板上將木條層層交錯拼接的木造結構，看起來像是一座顛倒的森林，營造出一個彷彿陽光從樹葉縫隙間灑落森林般的空間 It features a remarkable system of roof supports to create a unique upside-down forest ceiling made of intersecting wooden beams. “We assembled the structure mixing steel and cedar, expressing a forest with sunlight filtering through the leaves,” said Kengo Kuma and Associates.
