坐落在手取川與大道谷川之間狹窄的河階上，自古以來，養蠶業是當地的主要產業。當地的傳統建築物風貌獨特，牆壁由泥土砌成，能夠讓室內保持溫暖。如今仍然能在村子裡看到許多這樣的建築 This is a village in the upper reaches of the Tedori River and located in small river terraces between the Tedori River and the Omitsudan River. Sericulture (silk production) has been the main industry since long ago. This led to a unique architectural style comprising of earthen walls that are able to sustain warm indoor temperatures. Many of these buildings are still visible in the village today.
