江戶時代初期萩城築城之際，許多武士重臣住在三の丸堀内，隨著城下町發展，平安古地区開始有許多武士移居，現在仍可見到江戶時代後的街區劃分與當時的主屋、長屋門等建築保存至今 When Hagi Castle was built in the early Edo period, many samurai ministers lived in Sannomarubori. With the development of the castle town, many samurai began to immigrate to the ancient Heian area. The block division after the Edo period and the main house, long house gate and other buildings at that time can still be seen today.

旧田中義一男爵別邸 Former Villa of Tanaka Giichi

旧児玉家庭園 (平安古かいまがり交流館 Hiyako Kaimagari Community Center)

施設位於児玉三郎右衛門の屋敷地 The facility is located on Kodama Saburoemon’s estate. 沿河而建の武家屋敷庭園形式是貴重的遺構 The gardens of samurai residences that were once built along rivers are valuable relics.

平安古鍵曲 Hiyako Kaimagari

鍵曲是一條呈直角彎曲的道路，左右都是高い土塀 Kaimagari is a unique street that is surrounded by high earthen walls on both sides and curves at right angles for the purpose of defense in the battle to make enemy’s sight unclear.
