- 作為延曆寺和日吉大社的門前町,繁榮一時的坂本還是一座「裏坊」街市 Town of Satobo was traditionally known as a town sacred to both Hieizan Enryaku-ji Temple and Hiyoshi Taisha Shrine, Sakamoto is also home to numerous satobo.
- 中世紀開始從事裏坊的土地整治,並築建起被稱作穴太眾積的堅固石磊圍墻簇擁的美麗街町。今天,山腳下不僅仍遺留有 50 座寺院裏坊,還能欣賞到自比叡山引流清涼澈水的庭園 Come the middle ages, anoshu were responsible for the maintenance of satobo and had created a beautiful townscape of durable stonework known as anoshuzumi. ere are some 50 satobo scattered around the foot of the mountain. Visitors can enjoy the well maintained gardens thriving on the refreshing waters of Mt. Hiei.
