- 「日光東照宮」為祭祀 1617 年德川家康被賜封為御祭神的神社。現有建築物多改建於 17 世紀，境內有 8 棟國寶，34 棟重要文化財等 55 棟建築物 Nikko Toshogu is a shrine where Tokugawa Ieyasu was enshrined as a festival deity in 1617. Most of the shrine complex you see today was rebuilt in 17th century. The shrine contains 55 buildings including 8 national treasures and 34 important cultural property.

- 1. 陽明門 Yomeimon (Mont Yangming)
- 代表日本最美的門 It is said that it is the most beautiful gate that represents Japan.
- 2. 廻廊 Corridors
- 陽明門左右延伸建築，外牆裝飾日本最大級花鳥彫刻。The building extends to the left and right of the Yomei Gate, and the outer wall is decorated with the largest sculpture of flowers and birds in Japan.
- 3. 唐門 Tomon (Karamo Does)
- 利用貝殼磨碎之後所做成的胡粉將門塗白，並有「許由與巢父」與「舜帝朝見之禮」等細緻的雕刻 The Tomon is painted white with goho, and has fine sculptures such as “Kyuyu and Soho” and “Shun Teicho Ken no Gi”.
- 4. 御本社 (ごほんしゃ) Headquarters (Gohonsha)
- 東照宮最重要的場所，包含本殿・石の間・拝殿三個區域。This is the most important part of Toshogu, which consists of the main hall, stone hall, and worship hall.
- 5. 眠り猫 (ねむりねこ) Sleeping Cat (Nemurineko)
- 據稱眠貓是江戶時代的名雕刻師左甚五郎的作品，在牡丹花叢的簇擁下，貓咪沐浴在陽光下打盹，讓人聯想到地名「日光」。It is said to have been made by Jingoro left. It is said that it was carved in the name of “Nikko” because it was surrounded by peony flowers and exposed to the sunlight, and was snarling.

- 9. 神厩舎 God Stables・三猿 Three Monkeys
- 自古以來就有猿猴能夠守護馬匹的健康安全，其中最有名的『非禮勿視、非禮勿言、非禮勿聽』三猿彫刻。Since monkeys have long been said to protect horses, the sculptures of the “Three Monkeys” with the “see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil” are famous.
