- 大森地區是緊鄰礦山發展起來的小鎮，其特徵是武士宅邸、商鋪、行政設施、神社寺院等混雜分佈於此。細長的街道全長 0.8 km，充滿歷史和文化氣息的小鎮上隨處可見古代民家改造而成的商店和咖啡館。Besides the Silver mine area, there stands the town of Omori-cho which developed together with the mines. The road, extending for a distance of 0.8 km parallel to the river, retains vestiges of the former times when it was lined with the Magistrate’s Office, old samurai residences, stores, shrines, and so on. It might also be fun to stop by at old wooden houses that have been refurbished into cafés and craft shops.

- 幾個世紀以來，熊谷家族是大森最富有，最有影響力的家族，為地區中央政府的地方行政官官邸提供財務和承包服務。熊谷家住宅是最能說明石見銀山宮廷權貴商人生活變遷的民宅。For centuries, the Kumagai family was the richest and most influential in Omori. The family made its fortune in mining but later diversified to include financial and contracting services for the magistrate’s office. The Kumagai Family Residence is a private house that best illustrates the changes in the lives of the influential merchants of the Iwami Ginzan Imperial Court.

- 河島家族是江戶時代武士家族之一，成員中包括負責監管石見銀山礦工的高級官員。Counted among the most prosperous samurai families in Omori during the Edo period, the Kawashima family included high-ranking officials charged with the supervision of miners at Iwami Ginzan.
- 現在前河島家是石見銀山唯一開放參觀的武士家遺宅。This is the only former samurai residence in Iwami Ginzan area open to the public.
- 現在對公眾開放的這個宅邸擺著著藝術品、餐具，器皿和其他物品，呈現出該氏族約兩個世紀前的生活狀況。Now open to the public, the residence is decorated with art, tableware, utensils, and other items to illustrate how the family lived some two centuries ago.

3. 大森代官所跡 (石見銀山資料館) Omori Magistrate’s Office (Iwami Ginzan Museum)

- 江戶時代石見銀山幕府代表或地方行政官在其設防的官邸監督銀礦及周圍地區，地方行政官的職責為收稅、維護法律秩序和管理礦山。In the Edo period, Iwami Ginzan was under the direct administration of the shogunate’s representative, or magistrate, supervised the silver mine and the surrounding area from his fortified office. The magistrate was responsible for tax collection, law and order, and the management of the mine.
- 大森代官所跡由大門結構和主樓組成，主樓設立了一個博物館，展出包括長年以來各種採礦設備的變遷，說明礦工及其家人的生活情況、地方官員的工作狀況，甚至還展示從日本其他地方指派到石見銀山的新地方行政官。Today, the site of the Iwami Ginzan magistrate’s office is composed of a gate and main building. The exhibits include a wide range of mining equipment from over the years and feature descriptions of how miners and their families lived, how local officials went about their business, and even how new magistrates and other functionaries assigned to Iwami Ginzan from elsewhere in Japan.
