- 矢掛在江戶時代是一個「宿場町」，由整座城鎮為前往江戶的上百人隊伍「大名行列」提供過夜住宿之處，擁有悠久的歷史。現今的矢掛町承繼歷史，身為日本第一座「分散型旅館城鎮 (Albergo Diffuso Town)」，依舊由整座城鎮招待各位旅人，提供住宿。Yakage was a village of old style inns during the Edo period, when the whole town would prepare inns for Daimyo-Gyoretsu, which consisted of hundreds of people. This history gave rise to the whole town being recognized as an inn, as the first Albergo Diffuso Town in Japan, that still offers hospitality to travellers today.

- 位於通往江戶之主要道路上的驛站城鎮，前往江戶的大名一行人會在此過夜 A town on the main highway leading to Edo, where a Daimyo party could stay and rest

- 分散型旅館城鎮‧矢掛 Albergo Diffuso Town Yakage
- 作為現代的「宿場町」，整個城鎮都是旅館，溫暖地迎接每一位旅客 The entire town is now regards as a hotel and warmly welcome tourists
全国唯一一處保存良好江戸時代的旧本陣和旧脇本陣，也都被指定為国重要文化財 The former Honjin and Wakihonjin of the Edo period are designated as important cultural properties, and it is the only one in Japan that remains together.

- 白壁與瓦片的對比十分優美，是備中南部建築様式的貴重建造物 The contrast between the white walls and the roof tiles is beautiful, and this is a valuable building that conveys the architectural style of southern Bitchu.
