- 大內宿是建於 17 世紀的驛站小鎮，至今依然保留 300 年前江戶時代傳統的茅草屋頂，建築風格完全遵循江戶時代，並展示當代生活用具、圍爐及風俗，讓人回到江戶時代，1981 年被指定為国選定重要伝統的建造物群保存地区。Ouchijuku was a flourishing post-town that served travelers in the 17th century. Ouchi-juku is filled with buildings that are over 300 years old, with traditional thatched roofs and streets with running water to either side. Visitors can travel back in time to the Edo period as they walk along the row of thatched-roof homesteads. Traditional lifestyles can be seen inside the houses with various displays such as old-fashioned Irori fireplaces and the homewares of the era. Ouchi-juku was designated as an National Preservation District for Groups of Historic Buildings in 1981.

Located in the center of the main street, this building used to be an inn used by lords passing through on their way to Edo city. There are Edo period tools, an authentic interior, and various historical artifacts on display.

- 3. 大內宿冰雪節 (雪まつり) Ouchijuku Snow Festival
- 用雪做成的燈籠和雪洞，妝點在道路兩旁，冰雪舞台上除了太鼓等傳統地方藝術表演外，還有吃蕎麥麵和拔河比賽，當夜幕降臨，點亮雪燈籠，夜空上並綻放的美麗的煙火。On the second Saturday and Sunday in February, the annual Snow Festival turns Ouchi-juku into a pretty candlelit scene. Bright white snow falls and slowly builds up, as candles burn bright in snow lanterns, bathing the old post town in warm light. Various events are held during the two-day festival, the highlight being the fireworks on the first evening.

- 每年 7 月 2 日舉辦古老的傳統活動，身穿白衣頭戴烏鴉帽的男子列隊，抬神轎、拉山車隊伍緊接在後 On July 2, the main street of Ouchi-juku is full of procession goers wearing Edo-period garb and masks. The parade celebrates the middle of the hot summer days. Tourists can even participate.
- 5. 防災訓練 Disaster Prevention Drill
- 茅草屋頂的材料是蒲葦，冬暖夏涼但不耐火。因此，每年 9 月 1 日 10:00 都會舉行同時一斉放水訓練 The material for thatched roofs is pampas grass. The thatched roof is cool in summer and warm in winter, but it is weak against fire. Therefore, in Ouchi-juku, a simultaneous water discharge drill is held at 10:00 on September 1st every year.
