- 涵蓋岐阜縣白川村荻町、富山縣平村相倉和上平村菅沼 3 個聚落，合掌造房屋是依大雪區域嚴峻自然環境和傳統生活方式建成的，這 3 個聚落形成了日本其他地區無法看到的獨特鄉村景觀 Located in a mountainous region that was cut off from the rest of the world for a long period of time, these villages with their Gassho-style houses subsisted on the cultivation of mulberry trees and the rearing of silkworms. The large houses with their steeply pitched thatched roofs are the only examples of their kind in Japan. Despite economic upheavals, the villages of Ogimachi, Ainokura and Suganuma are outstanding examples of a traditional way of life perfectly adapted to the environment and people’s social and economic circumstances.
- 白川鄉與五箇山的合掌造聚落 (白川郷·五箇山の合掌造り集落) 是日本飛驒地區白川鄉 (岐阜縣大野郡白川村) 及五箇山 (富山縣南礪市) 地區的合掌造聚落的總稱。於 1995 年 12 月 9 日被聯合國教科文組織登錄為世界文化遺產。其冬季雪景為其主要代表意象 The Historic Villages of Shirakawa-go and Gokayama are one of Japan’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The world heritage site consists of three historic mountain villages, Ogimachi, Ainokura, and Suganuma, surrounded by the steep forested mountains of the Chubu Region within central Japan. In total, the area inscribed as a world heritage site for these three villages is 68 hectares (0.68 km2).
