據說在江戶時代時，全國有 170 處城堡。但是被認為是江戶時代前建造的天守，目前在日本國內僅有 12 處，並且被當作貴重的文化遺產，指定為國家重要文化材 It is said that there were 170 castles spread throughout Japan during the Edo period, but only 12 castles with main towers built before the Edo period remain today, and as valuable parts of the nation’s cultural heritage, they have all been designated as Important Cultural Properties.
別名鶴島城，是一座梯郭式平山城。由於西側有一半以上與海水鄰近，又被稱為水城。Also known as Tsurushima Castle, it is a hilltop castle. Because more than half of the west side is adjacent to the sea, it is also known as a mizujiro castle.
城山是国史跡，天守閣是独立式層塔型三重三階，天守閣的外觀令人印象深刻，美麗的白色牆壁和優雅的外觀 Shiroyama is a national historic site, and the castle tower is a stand-alone tower type triple third floor. The appearance of the castle tower is impressive, with beautiful white walls and graceful appearance

城山鄉土館 Shiroyama Folk Museum (旧山里倉庫 Former Yamazato Warehouse)

建於三之丸的武器庫，現存案例很少的稀有建築，遷移至城山後，作為城山郷土博物館對外開放，展出民俗資料和舊照片 It is an armory built in Sannomaru, and it is a rare building with few existing cases. After being relocated to Shiroyama, it was opened to the public as the Shiroyama Folk Museum, where folk materials and old photographs were exhibited.
