- 国の重要文化財 National Important Cultural Property
- 1882 年由町民募資興建白牆、拱形窗戶與德國製玻璃外觀，仿西洋風小学校校舎，館內目前收藏和展示昭和初期的教科書等，共約 6,000 件珍貴史料，作為教育資料館，可預約參加「明治時代授課體驗」，另外可參觀開明學校前身的申義堂私塾 Kaimei School was a symbol of a new epoch, upon opening many people visited to see the modern building with white walls, arched windows and imported foreign-made glass. Nowadays the building is a museum with displays of approximately 6,000 valuable items including textbooks from the Meiji through to the early Showa periods. Visitors can even experience a lesson as taught back when the school opened (booking required). The Shingi-do, a private school and predecessor to the Kaimei School, is also located on the site.
