2011 年被認定為聯合國世界遺産的「中尊寺」除了本堂之外還有幾棟建築，其中最有名的是「金色堂」。建築整體及佛像大量使用了金箔及螺鈿細工 (將貝殼光澤部分鑲嵌在上的裝飾)，外觀非常富麗堂皇。現在仍保存了以國寶建築物第 1 號金色堂為首的 3,000 多件國寶及重要文化財。這些國寶及重要文化財的一大特色是包括有漆工藝、木工藝、金屬工藝、染織和書法等多種元素，中尊寺也因此被視為東日本首屈一指的平安佛教美術寶庫 Nevertheless, more than 3,000 National Treasures and Important Cultural Properties survived, principal among them the Konjikido, the small, golden Amida hall which was the first structure designated a Japanese National Treasure. The significance of Chuson-ji’s treasures is that they form an integrated collection of many different crafts, including lacquer work, woodwork, metalwork, dyeing and calligraphy all of which represent the pinnacle of Heian period Buddhist art in eastern Japan.

月見坂 Tsukimizaka Slope

中尊寺的表參道叫做月見坂，道路兩旁是由江戶時代統治平泉地區的伊達藩種下的杉樹，樹齡有 300 – 400 年左右，形成一條長長的林蔭道 The main approach to Chuson-ji is called Tsukimizaka (Moon Viewing Slope). On either side of the path are cryptomeria trees planted three to four centuries ago.

本堂 Hondo (Main Hall)

本堂是整座寺院的中心建築物，於 1909 年重建 Chuson-ji is the name of both the complex and this principal temple hall where many services and rituals are conducted.

金色堂 Konjikido (Golden Hall)

金色堂是唯一一座將中尊寺創建之初的樣貌傳承至今的建築物，於 1124 年完成，堂內外都貼有金箔的「皆金色」阿彌陀堂 The Konjikido, completed in 1124, is the only 12th century structure to survive in its original form at Chuson-ji. This small hall is dedicated to Amida Nyorai (the Buddha of Infinite Light) and apart from the roof, is covered with gold leaf both inside and out.

讚衡藏 Sankozo Museum

讚衡藏是作為一座將中尊寺內傳承的文化財和寶物長久地保留給後世的寶物館而建造的，現存的 3000 多件國寶及重要文化財大部分都收藏在這裡，您可參觀到佛像、佛經以及奧州藤原氏的隨葬品等珍貴的文化財 The Sankozo was opened in 2000 to preserve Chuson-ji’s various treasures and cultural assets for future generations. Most of Chuson-ji’s more than 3,000 National Treasures and Important Cultural Properties are now housed here. Among these are Buddhist statues, sutras, and the burial accoutrements of the Oshu Fujiwara lords.

紅葉銀河 2020 Fall Foliage Galaxy

秋天，參拜道的紅葉漸深時，中尊寺會舉行「紅葉銀河」來點亮神社。伴隨著五彩繽紛覆堂的參拜道，點亮的神社和水中倒影的弁財天堂 Leaves at their peak fall vibrancy are lit up at Chuson-ji Temple. As part of an event called “Koyo ginga” — or fall foliage galaxy — that runs through Nov. 15, 2020, the lights are directed at the maple trees lining the approximately 300 m path from the temple’s main hall to the Konjiki-do, or the Golden Hall, as well as the trees by the Benzaiten-do.
