- 1855 年開校，作為松代藩士子弟學習武術、文学、藝術、東洋・西洋の医学、西洋の軍学，近代的学校の先駆 The Education and Military Arts School was opened in 1855 for the children of samurai in the Matsushiro Domain to study regular subjects as well as martial arts. It was a forerunner of modern schools.
