豊後街道街路兩旁屋敷群，遍布以石膏敷牆的重厚土蔵構造的連続商家跡，以及災除川和南新川沿岸約 250 軒 The streets of the Bungo Kaido are lined with the remains of merchant houses built with thick, plastered earthen storehouses, and about 250 mansions spread along the Kasaiyoke River and the Minami Shinkawa River.
