- 北前船是從江戶時代到明治時代，來回航行於北海道與大阪之間的商船，沿著北陸以北的日本海沿岸港口經下關、瀨戶內海到大阪的航線，也被稱為「西廻航路」，後來該路線延伸到北海道，利用每個停靠港反複交易，從中賺取巨額利潤。The Kitamaebune ships traveled across the Sea of Japan between Osaka and Hokkaido from the mid-Edo to the Meiji period. The route along the Sea of Japan coast to the north of Hokuriku via Shimonoseki and the Seto Inland Sea to Osaka is also known as the “Nishikai Route”. Later, the route was extended to Hokkaido. They purchased a wide variety of goods at their ports of call and made enormous profits by selling them at other ports.

- 加賀橋立位於石川県西南部的日本海沿岸，東西長約 680 m、南北長約 550 m。Kaga Hashidate, 680 m from east to west and 550 m from north to south, is located on the coast of the Sea of Japan in the southwestern part of Ishikawa Prefecture. 江戸後期至明治中期活躍的北前船の船主和船長的「船主聚落」，因保存完整傳遞往昔的様貌。There were many shipowners and sailors, active from the late Edo to the mid-Meiji period, lived in the village. In the conservation area, the shipowner’s mansion tells the story of the past.
- 船主屋敷の主屋為人字形屋頂、紅褐色瓦頂、四周木柵欄和土庫房，淡青色的笏谷石被用於路面和石牆，賦予村莊柔和的質感。The main house of the shipowner’s mansion is a gabled and subtle tile roof. There are wooden fences and Shakudani stone walls around it. Shakudani stones, which are used for stone walls and steps, are mined in neighboring Fukui Prefecture. The stones turn misty green when wet with rain., giving the village a soft texture.

The main house, believed to have been built from 1830 to 1843, is surrounded by a new reception room and a storehouse. 包括新座敷在內的附屬建築也保存完好，使其對於船主住宅的佈局具有極高的價值 Furthermore, the outbuildings, such as the new reception room, are well-preserved, making it highly valuable for accurately conveying the layout of a shipowner’s residence.
