北海道廳舊本廳舍 Former Hokkaido Government Office
- 興建於 1888 年，採用美國新巴洛克式建築風格的紅磚建築，1969 年被指定為国指定重要文化財，被譽為「赤れんが庁舎」。明治時代製造的彎曲的玻璃及設計抵擋北海道的嚴寒天氣的雙層門，都是日本罕見的建築樣式 The Former Hokkaido Government Office is a red-brick building built in 1888 in the American neo-baroque style. It was designated as a national important cultural property in 1969, and is known as the “Red Brick Government Building”. The architectural details such as the warped glass created in the Meiji Period and the heat-retaining double doors are rare in Japan.
- 有多項開放民眾免費使用的設施，除了圖書館與歷史資料庫之外，亦可造訪展示日本最北端島嶼之開發歷史的北海道歷史館。此外，亦可安排參觀舊有的北海道知事辦公室，以及欣賞展示在整座大廳中的藝術作品 The Former Hokkaido Government Office houses several facilities open to the public that are free to enjoy. In addition to a library and historical archive, visit the Gallery of Hokkaido History, showcasing the history of Japan’s northern island. You can also visit the former governor’s office and enjoy the artwork on display throughout its halls.

繪畫 Historical Paintings
- 紅磚廳舍內部展示有 20 餘幅委托北海道出身的當地畫家親自繪製的畫作 More than 20 paintings commissioned by local painters from Hokkaido are displayed in the red brick hall.

Compared with lively make-up of the front, the back is plain with little decoration, emanating an air typical of brick buildings.
