688 – 古都京都の文化財〔财〕(京都市、宇治市、大津市) Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto (Kyoto, Uji and Otsu Cities) – 世界遺產〔遗产〕World Heritage

  • 794 年的平安京建都到江戶時代,京都是貴族、武士和王朝的日本首都。古都京都有眾多文化遺產代表每個時代的文化。其中有 16 座寺院和 1 座城被登錄為世界遺產,代表京都的歷史和 2,000 多種文化遺產 Built in A.D. 794 on the model of the capitals of ancient China, Kyoto was the imperial capital of Japan from its foundation until the middle of the 19th century. As the centre of Japanese culture for more than 1,000 years, Kyoto illustrates the development of Japanese wooden architecture, particularly religious architecture, and the art of Japanese gardens, which has influenced landscape gardening the world over.
  • 古京都遺址又被稱為古都京都的文化財 (京都市、宇治市、大津市),是指存在於日本京都府京都市宇治市滋賀縣大津市寺院神社城堡史蹟的總稱。此建築群在 1994 年被聯合國教科文組織登錄為世界遺產,成為日本第 5 個世界遺產項目 The locations are in three cities: Kyoto and Uji in Kyoto Prefecture; and Otsu in Shiga Prefecture; Uji and Otsu border Kyoto to the south and north, respectively. Of the monuments, 13 are Buddhist temples, three are Shinto shrines, and one is a castle. The properties include 38 buildings designated by the Japanese government as National Treasures, 160 properties designated as Important Cultural Properties, eight gardens designated as Special Places of Scenic Beauty, and four designated as Places of Scenic Beauty. UNESCO listed the site as World Heritage in 1994.
